Sporting Clays Range

Raahauge's offers a 30-station Sporting Clays course. Ten stations are great for warm-up or training, while the other 20 stations offer more challenging target flight.

What is Sporting Clays? The clay targets are presented to the gunner in ways that mirror the flight pattern of game birds or rabbits in their natural habitats. The shooting grounds are laid out in stations with each station representing one type of bird or a combination of game - a rabbit and a quail for example. Targets are thrown in pairs, but single targets can also be shot. To add to the fun, different sizes and colors of targets are offered.

We only use 7-1/2, 8 or 9 shot size in a 2-3/4" shell cartridge. We only load two shells at any time. We sell 20- and 12-gauge ammo at the range. If you want to try a different shot size, we will send you to the Pistol Range. No Magnum Loads or 3-1/2" shells on the shotgun range, but OK on the pistol and rifle range

The National Sporting Clays Association is the official governing body for this sport.

Blue Key
When you sign up in the main shooting office, you will be offered a Blue Key which keeps track of all your targets. When you are done shooting, bring the key back in and you will be charged accordingly. Fee is $24/50 targets.
Red Key
If you decide you will do a lot of shooting, many purchase the Red Key, which is preloaded with 1,000 targets. This is a key you take home. It also allows you to shoot until 6 p.m. after the main office closes at 4 p.m. The key sells for $340 - a savings of $140 over the Blue Key.

We offer shotguns in 12 and 20-gauge to fit all sizes of shooters, including youth shooters. The rental fee is $10 and you must purchase the range ammunition

Monday and Tuesday - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday through Sunday - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Red Key holders may shoot until 6 p.m.

The range is a perfect place for your next corporate party. There is a large banquet hall and a barbecue area with tables. Many people enjoy their bachelor or bachelorette gathering. We can offer a shooting/lunch or shooting/dinner package to meet your needs.
